Cakes, Cards and Angels - oh my!

Ok, Here we go... I can't believe i was such a BAD blogger, and let a week go by without posting!!! i am so sorry!! I vow, never again.
So, without making you wait any longer - here are some fun pics of what i did this week.

First, we have Cait's last day of school, and her teacher's birthday, well, what do you get a teacher who is just the BEST?! A cake -- but not just any cake -- a paper cake, lol. I used my Cricut and my Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge to create this two layer cake. I filled the boxes with chocolates and mini tootsie rolls.
Then i added a cup full of goodies on top with ribbon. The sides of the cake slices are stamped with the apple from the "Tart and Tangy" Stampin' Up Set.

Next, here is my card for last week's color challenge that i posted below. I used Fifth Avenue Floral for my stamp set, along with a level one hostess set for the "Be Happy" - which will retire as of Weds!

Lastly, we went to the RI Air National Guard Airshow yesterday at Quonset Point. I hadn't been to this since I had met Dave over 12 years ago, and i first went when he was in the National Guard (Military Police) and me and my friend Vicki went - I have always wanted to get back to go, but for whatever reason, it just never fell on a good weekend it seemed.. either too hot, too rainy, to busy.. etc. So, this was my chance!
I love this!! The louder the better IMO.. however, Cait didn't see it that way.. LOL

I was able to get some great shots -- and that is hard to do when they are flying overhead anywhere b/w 300-650 mph! LOL I need to clean them up in photoshop, and brighten them up. but overall, not bad.
This first pic is of an F22, the newest plane in the show.. VERY VERY LOUD and VERY VERY fast....SOOOO COOL!!!!

Next, the finishing act is always the Navy's Blue Angels. They are awesome --- there is no way you can go and not stay til the end just to see them. The way they fly so close together and fluently, just gives me chills.... again, loud and fast... LOVED them!!!

Got lots of nice shots, hopefully i can share more when i have time to clean them up a bit!
HAve a great night!
~Stacy

Birthday Gift & Open House, and 2 spaces for rent!

Well, As i had stated before, this past week was my lil' sis's bday! And she totally loves designer purses... so, a few posts ago, i showed you the cute Top Note purse i made her, and now i am showing you the second half of her gift - this was a purse that i found the wonderful template online (link below) and i knew she would love it! I used the Designer Series Paper - Urban Oasis (which is sadly retiring at the end of this month!!) It features a Top Note die as the top, and 2 scallop envelope dies on the front. Here is a pic of the closed up purse: (You can click on the pic to enlarge!)
Here is the link: PURSE here <----- Tutorial link!!! Here is a pic of the purse opened, and showing you how it holds 6 cards (i put 3 on each side) + envelopes. I simply adhered 2 celo bags to put the cards in. Then there is room for a pen in the middle. (Click on the pic to enlarge)

Below is a pic of the 6 cards.. All from the Urban Oasis DSP and Fifth Avenue Floral Stamp Set. (Click on the pic to enlarge)

Now, if that wasn't enough yummy stuff to look at - I held my first Open House / Workshop at Calvary UMC yesterday.. I did 2 projects with the ladies... here they are:

We had a GREAT time, it was fun to watch everyone create their masterpieces!! (Including my daughter). I also gave everyone a bookmark with swatches of the new In Colors on them, i think those were a big hit! And everyone enjoyed receiving a lil' prize at the end of the night also. If you missed this night, don't worry, you can book your own workshop - either at our church, or your home, and have all the fun that we did! And earn some great free gifts!! Email me for details!
On to the CLUB spaces for "rent" --- I am going to be starting up a Stamp Club with a few of the ladies who came last night.. And we have room for 2 more players!!
What does this mean? Well, basically, you would commit to joining our club for 6 months, and each month members agree to place at least a $25 order thru me by a set date determined..
Each month we take turns rotating the benefits, and every month one person out of the 6 is assigned to be the hostess. The month that you are the hostess, you benefit by getting and extra of at least $15 in free merchandise, and a free hostess stamp set!!! You will know ahead of time which month you will be the hostess, and if you want to invite others (family/friends) to join us, to increase your benefits, you may!
Each month, we as a club, will gather, and create a couple items (cards, 3 d items, scrapbook pages, etc) - if you can't attend in person that month, no problem - i can mail you the package and directions for your goodies, and you can assemble them on your own.
******If you do not live in the area, and still want to join us -- PLEASE DO!!!! This club can be for people in town, or across the country! I can priority mail you all the materials to create the same projects that we will be making, along with pdf directions -- distance is NOT an issue!!
If this sounds exciting to you and you want to join us -- please email me at smvenancio@yahoo.com today, and i can email you over the agreement and info sheet. We are looking to begin on July 1st and will be setting the date to gather that month.
**Currently, we have (2) spots left!

Sneek Peek new in colors!! And a gift for my sis

First off, i want to share with you all a sneek peek of the new Stampin' Up! In Colors for 2009-2010. These will be available starting July 1. See the post below for the names! I used all four colors on this card - the card base is Dusty Durango, the embossed layer (embossed with the fifth avenue floral folder) is razzleberry, and the matted layer for the white is Melon Mambo. The flower was colored in with the new in-color markers!!! Yea! We finally have markers! And the verse was stamped with the suede new incolor marker. Remember, you can pre-order your new catalog from me by checking out my post below, or email me at smvenancio@yahoo.com . Cost is $10, but you will receive a $10 coupon for a future order!!! Can't go wrong!
Next, we have a gift for my sis (hope she doesn't peek!) - She is turning 29 on 6/8, (Sorry about the telling of the age Barb!!) and she is a pocketbook freak, we went to a huge HUGE fleamarket in N.H. a couple weeks ago, where they sell tons of knock - off designer purses, and she was in heaven! So, she is already planning her next trip up there, so i wanted to give her some $ to take with her! Needless to say, i needed a creative way to gift it!
Here is where my friend, neighbor and downline - Cheryl, came into the pic. She got the Big Shot Starter kit in yesterday, and i had to go over and play!! I am in total loooooove!!! I also made the lil' matchbox with the matchbox die for the Big Shot. I added a kraft corduroy button (#114340), (love these!!!) and made the top flap with a large scallop circle die for the Big Shot. (#113468). The purse itself was made using the Top Note die - cut out 2x (# 113463) and making a box to put between the two top notes. I then put 2 eyelets (3/16") in the scallop circle and ran some Old Olive ribbon thru. All of these colors are the CURRENT In Colors, that are only available til the end of June!! I love them, they are so bright and fun, i will admit, i will miss them!
The flower on the match box is the Sizzlets die - Birds and Blooms (# 113485). To finish it off, i used the faux alligator skin technique on the top note. (hard to see in pic) More on this technique later! If you would like to learn more about the Big Shot, click on the pic to the right ---->
*Remember, this starter Big Shot kit is only available until the end of June - so, if you are even THINKING about getting one, NOW is the time!! Not only do you get the starter kit at a great price, but you will also get EXTRA hostess benefits for the month of June. The big shot starter kit will give you enough to get $20 EXTRA in FREE product of your choice - (perhaps another Big Shot Die??) above and beyond what you already get in hostess benefits!! This is seriously on my list, and i hope to be getting one before the end of the month myself!!
